TGIF update

Happy Friday everyone!  Been busy at work this week, closing the books for May.  Got a lot of workouts in, everyday except Tuesday.  Including one last night and another this morning.  Finished level 2 of the 30 Day Shred yesterday (yeah me) and will move onto level 3 this weekend.  Plan to take my measurements tonight and post update tongiht.  I’m so ready for the weekend, been a draining week!  Nothing big planned which is nice, need to do some housework and get the pond cleaned up a bit. 

I think I did something to my left knee last night Shredding, put some icy hot on it before bed, hoping it would be better by morning, but it was still achy this morning.  So instead of sticking another session of Shredding like 6 hours after the last one, I switched it up and did Biggest Loser Yoga.

So what do I think about this yoga?  Never having done yoga, I didn’t really know what to look forward to, but thought it would be a good stretch for my tender knee.  It was about 30 minutes, and felt the burn it in my thighs on several of the lunges and my core was tight on the plank like moves.  When I was done, I kinda felt like I cheated and didn’t really work out!  I was not dripping with sweat like I do after Shredding…had I really burned any calories doing this?

To top it off, before starting my workout this morning, I get on the scale for my “regular” Friday weigh in…and it was up a pound from last week!  Urgh….how frustrating!  I know it might be because my muscles were still tight from working out later last night, but yesterday it was down almost 1/2 a lb from last week!  Sucky, but I’m not letting it stop me by any means, but I would have liked to have seen the same number or a little less than I did yesterday.  Oh well, as long as it’s down by next Wednesday for the Sisterhood WI, I will be ok.  I’ll just keep plugging along like I have been…knowing that even if the scale isn’t showing it, I’m making the right choices!

  1. Such dedication! That’s awesome!! I’m so impressed that you still chose to workout, even with a sore knee. THAT is inspirational, my new purple friend!!

    I was so excited to find the whole 30-day Shred on YouTube last night ~ now I just need to figure out how to either make room to workout here in my office or copy those videos onto a DVD so I can do them in my living room where there’s SLIGHTLY more room for all sorts of flailing!

    • Maybe I should have said…I’m gonna “ATTEMPT” to move onto level 3! Have mercy on me Jillian!!! LOL!

  3. I am starting level 3 also. Hope your knee feels better, I think level 3 is easier on the knees, though I haven’t done it so I don’t know. Sorry about the weight gain I know how frustrating that is. But I always weigh in the mornings, because eating and drinking can make a big difference. Keep up the good work.
